I am going to quietly ignore how many of these author names I’ve been incorrectly pronouncing all these years, and take heart in the fact that most everyone else does, too.

(Except ‘Ayn’. I was firmly corrected on that one many years ago during an incredibly brief sort-of-relationship. The guy ended up dumping me by e-mail after he thought I was criticizing his latest date’s wardrobe, whereas I was merely correcting his spelling of ‘sleazy’. Which I ought not have done, of course, but still.)
