Thanks - an honest review that points to there being a space for a better biography.

I studied Nazi Germany 20 years ago and the conclusion was that Eva was a vacuous idiot. Probably recent interest in studying her life is due to the understanding that records of female historical figures are politically laden. My thought is: was she hidden from view because in reality she wasn't oppressed and vacuous enough? She may in reality have been the sort of woman to declare at a public gathering 'I've heard a rumour people are being murdered...' Her diaries suggest that kind of woman.

The banality of evil is at the core of my interest too. Maybe that's why Eva Braun asks to be studied. In so many ways her life really was pretty ordinary. The only point of studying her is to pursue the only question that matters - how to stop such things happening again.

Thanks so much, I enjoyed reading - so much so I'm sure this response is way too long.

> But there’s no excuse to repeatedly quote Wikipedia as a primary source

Or, indeed, to EVER do that. Because Wikipedia is full of lies.

The only way to approach Wikipedia is by treating it like a sort of MMORPG. Everyone on Wikipedia is role-playing being an encyclopaedia contributor/editor, and Wikipedia itself is their highly-detailed BUT FICTIONAL product.
